My friends @lavishscranton recently renovated an amazing historical store front using @fancy.parsley to make their forever home. And it is the most inspiring and incredible space for their entire Lavish family and for the community. To help me congratulate them I had the super talented @shortandsweetnepa make customized celebratory cookies for my friends. She even used some tattoo artwork @rhiannonwinter_ used for tats at Lavish’s Grand Opening to make it extra special! And oh my goshhhhh she nailed it hard! Thank you for everyone’s overwhelming and sincer

Thank you for everyone’s overwhelming and sincere support in regards to my last post about my recent mental well being. I received the absolute best messages, comments and irl chats about how these convos need to happen on the regular. I appreciate all of you SO much and grateful this platform can still be used in a way to make authentic connections that make a difference for the better.

And speaking of well-being, my husband @zenboz had my friends @matternsfloral make something special just for me that he knew would make me smile! I am obsessed and grateful for the gorgeous arrangement that arrived (out of the blue) last Friday! I have moved it around the house a couple times just to get the best views and maximum enjoyment. I settled on this placement bc I can see it clearly from my studio and while we hang in the living room or even just pass by during the day. 🖤🌞🖤

Sharing pics from yesterday which was such a great day spent mostly outside!

I’m also sharing the reality of my struggle to manage the stress and induced depression associated with Covid 19.

The social isolation, homeschool situation w/little progress in educational options for our community and significant changes in my work life and never being alone while feeling alone has brought on monumental stress in a way I have never felt before.

Personally, I have always seen mental health professionals for different things like family counseling, marriage counseling, grief and trauma therapy...and now.

I just want to say I have never felt depression before, not like this. Yes, grief and sadness but never depression. I am fortunate to have the tools to manage my stress in a safe environment with a circle of support but it doesn’t stop the negative self talk and lonely feelings that creep in these days.

I debated not posting this and have deleted similar posts in the past. But I know I can’t be the only one feeling this way so I wanted to say that I feel you and we are in fact, not alone.

Managing stress, anxiety and depression are not a solo trip! Reminder to reach out to trusted friends(even when you don’t want to) and talk about how you are really doing, tell yourself out loud what you grateful for, maintain exercise/physical movement, find healthy projects or hobbies that bring you a sense of fulfillment and purpose, create a daily schedule as well as a sleep schedule and stick to it. I also hope to encourage anyone out there that hasn’t been told before or could benefit from mental health pro that we all need and deserve that safe space of validation. We just do.

It’s just such a challenging time and even though this platform is usually used for me to share my love for design and other VKD business I also know from my own family’s personal experience in losing a family member to suicide that mental health is just as important as any other health related issue. And this issue chose me so I’m choosing to share it with you. The more we talk about mental health the easier and more natural it will become. Together.

While this feels like all but a dream the reality is last Feb 29 became Everhart In Love:Ron+Gavin, my last event and major creative collaboration. The best part is that these two will celebrate their one year wedding anniversary tomorrow. And for that I couldn’t be more proud and thankful for our entire creative team for making this a reality for them. This time last year myself and a highly dedicated

This time last year myself and a highly dedicated team of massively talented creatives were eyeballs deep into making sure this wedding event was the most epic collaboration we had ever put together. And it was.

Over the next couple of days, to celebrate the 1 year Anniversary of Everhart In Love: Ron+Gavin, I’ll be using this platform to share highlights of all the gorgeous details of that day, behind the scenes with the creatives and highlighting all the amazing vendors that gave their invaluable time and resources to host the best party in celebration of an unforgettable wedding and beautiful marriage.

This gorgeous day was held just days before we were all told to stay home so we could keep each other safe. So these images and memories are even more special now and should be celebrated. Thank you for coming here and allowing me to share what inspires me and keeps me going. I continue to be inspired by our community of creatives. And in this wild time I truly believe it will be this part of community that carries us straight into the light with all the good and new things we have to look forward to again...like the celebration of togetherness. I crafted a Vday inspired light installation for f

I crafted a Vday inspired light installation for fun but also to cover a light fixture I want to hide. I used a wreath ring and doorway party steamer panels. ❤️

Our new fixture won’t arrive until sometime in March. So this will stay up until then. And honestly, the night time ambiance is pretty stellar. 🧡

ps. My children are arguing in the video about how to spell the characters of Frozen. I couldn’t figure out how to turn off sound in a slide show. Sorry bout that. 🖤

We have all carried more on our backs these last 1

We have all carried more on our backs these last 10 months than ever before. But the most simple and true moments feel like the load is lighter. Super grateful for my creative community and my group text threads that have carried me through this past year on all the hard days. Have concluded that being an artist, running a business, and having a family are not mutually exclusive. I know that I am just an artist living a creative life in a world that needs more inspiration while on this constant quest for truth.

Currently hiding in my room from all responsibilities and soaking up a big time out! I feel like these last 10 months seem like 10 years. Anyone else bc I know it can’t just be me?!

While chilling out I decided to clean up my camera roll and got distracted by how many photos I have in my phone(19k+). I know.

But found these cozy shots I took of my friend @chalajan/@chalaimagery’s house at some point in 2020. Of course I adore and appreciate seeing my VKD throws and pillows she has in her space but truly obsessed and inspired by her geometric wall she had recently painted. Swipe to see more of this cozy room plus the gorgeous and fluid transition of color play from one room to another. Totally gorgeous and feeling all these vibes and colors today!

Sharing a before and after from the master bedroom

Sharing a before and after from the master bedroom. It’s a small room with an entire bay window wall, and two other walls with doorways leaving the only solid wall sandwiched between the walls with doors. So our bed had to go in front of the window wall. We achieved this by installing a ceiling mount double curtain rod that holds a layer of steel velvet black out curtains and layer of sheers to filter in natural light during the day but still providing privacy. The metal blinds were removed as well which opened the windows up and allows more light to filter through.

I had the entire house painted in Alabaster White which is soft, creamy white different from my cool, crisp white palette at the Olive St House. I’m choosing to accent with whites, greys, black and pops of color throughout the house. Our pop in the master bedroom is golden yellows. 💛

Still debating my headboard from either doing a black and natural velvet houndstooth fabric or hand painting or dying...keep you posted.
